Who we are
We help small businesses get real value from AI — without the hype, the slide decks, or the enterprise price tag.
Small Problems is a US-based AI consulting firm that specializes in workflow audits, automation builds, and team training for growing small and mid-sized businesses.
We’re a small team — but a senior one. Over 30 years of combined experience in senior and executive roles across both startups and the enterprise, which means we’ve built, bought, and lived with this kind of software from every side of the table. We know what actually moves the needle for an operator, and what’s just expensive theater.
The business was built on a simple observation: most SMBs are being sold AI tools by vendors who have no stake in whether those tools actually work. They want a signed contract. We take the opposite approach — we audit your workflows first, identify where automation creates clear ROI, and then build or recommend exactly what you need. Nothing more, and sometimes less than what you expected.
We work with owner-operators in eight verticals where AI workflow automation has the clearest, most repeatable ROI: home services, healthcare practices, law firms, accounting and financial services, real estate, construction, auto services, and professional services.
How We Work
Transparency over hype
We'll tell you honestly where AI makes sense for your business — and where it doesn't. If a $50/month tool solves your problem, we'll tell you that too. We'd rather lose a deal than oversell you.
Fixed scope, no surprises
Every build project starts with a written scope of work and a fixed price agreed before any work begins. We don't start the meter and bill by the hour.
You own everything
Code, credentials, documentation — all of it transfers to you at handoff. We build for your independence, not your dependency. Nothing is held hostage.
Built for operators
We specialize in growing small and mid-sized businesses because that's where AI creates the most proportional impact. Owner-operators get straight answers, fast timelines, and pricing that makes sense at their scale.
When the problem isn’t small
We also run an enterprise practice for organizations whose AI initiatives are stuck between pilot and production. Same team, same philosophy — bigger problems.
